The ones wholl walk into The Devils Advocate with no prior knowledge of the film will at first assume that its a courtroom drama of some sort. Meredith is also a man rapidly dying of cancer and appalled by the emptiness of his life. It must first be stated that The Devils Advocate while the inspiration for the eponymous Hollywood movie is markedly different from its better known cinematic counterpart. In its opening moments Keanu Reeves can be seen as a typical slick lawyer who tries to defend his client even after knowing that hes guilty of molesting one of his underage students.
